This has to be one of the most adorable things I’ve ever seen. Her name is Sonya and she is a Slow Loris (Nycticebus Coucang) – a slow moving primate found throughout southeast Asia inhabiting tropical evergreen rain forests. They are mainly fruit eaters but will also eat insects, leaves and bird’s eggs. The saliva of the species is toxic and used as a defense against predators but as you can see from the video they don’t seem to be at all aggressive. When they want to communicate with each other they will gently head-butt and like other primates they groom each other.

They vary in colour from grey to white. They have strong grasping hands and feet and opposable thumbs. They are mainly nocturnal and arboreal. Unfortunately the Bornean Slow Loris is on the endangered species list and, no doubt, other species of Slow Loris are vulnerable as well.

Sonya obviously loves a good belly rub. I don’t know about you but it makes me want to give her a cuddle. I think this is just about the cutest thing I’ve seen in ages. She’s so sweet I think I’m getting cavities just watching her.
